=============================================================== DOOM2 Wad File Filenames : snight1.wad thru snight8.wad Authors : Craig and Brian Sparks Email Address : sparks@tisl.ukans.edu Available at : http://www.tisl.ukans.edu/~sparks/DOOM.html Stop by and check out our other levels, screen shots are also available for all of them. The zip file 'snight_a.zip' contains all eight of the levels 'snight1.wad' thru 'snight8.wad' (single levels only, MAPs 01 to 08) and this text. =============================================================== Description: My brother and I have built over 50 levels to date. Five of our earlier levels, were released on the Book/CD ROM 'Tricks of the DOOM Programming Gurus' by SAMS Publishing. We have been getting together on Saturday nights with several of our friends one to two times a month to play various net games for at least a year now. We always play our snight series of levels in order from 1 to 8. There are monsters in a few of the levels but they are only there to make things interesting. We have played these levels many times, and they are all guaranteed to be fun and bug free. You will not be disappointed with them. Special note: these levels are for DEATH MATCH ONLY! All skill levels 1-5 are the same. In addition the levels intentionally have no exits so you must use the -timer command when running the IPXSETUP program. A copy of the response file, snight.txt, thay we use to play these levels is available for your reference and/or use at http://www.tisl.ukans.edu/~sparks/DOOM.html. To use it just type 'IPXSETUP @snight.txt' snight1.wad is a small maze with deeply pulsating lights. What makes this level fun and funny is that there is only on weapon to be had, the chain saw. This level is always infinitely entertaining. snight2.wad is a small level with a section of lifts that 'randomly' travel up and down all out of sync. It takes proper timing and skill to traverse them with out be killed by someone. When we first made this level we had no idea just how good of a death match level it would turn out to be. snight3.wad is a small level. There a some staple sniping windows that overlook out door areas. There is one piece of green armor on the level, and as it turns out its a popular place to hang out. One unique thing about this level is that it has a map room that has on the floor a scale map of the level that shows each of the rooms. The rooms light up, and turn off as people enter and leave them. snight4.wad is an interesting level. The weapons and their respective ammo are on opposite side of this symetric level. You must take a series of lifts up and down to get around the levels. There is a center room with armor and other useful things but its a tough run with the archviles and such guarding it. snight5.wad is one crazy level. It is a symetric level centered about a monster generator, like the one in level 30 of DOOM2. This level gets so chaotic at times. You have to wade through a sea of monsters just to get to someone and hopefully kill them before one of the monsters does. There is much more skill involved in 'winning' this death match level than you may think. snight6.wad is a symetric, small level with a dark center room full of desirable things and annoying monsters. If you can just gain control of the room you should do well in the frag count. Control of the room never seems to last though, the other 3 players always seem to find a way. snight7.wad is a symetric, relativly small level with a single trans- porter that takes you to room with some desirable ojects at its center. The only thing slowing you down is a set of alternating, crushing ceilings. Its worth the trip though. snight8.wad is original. Most of the level is one gigantic moving floor. It slowly moves up and down passing by stationary rooms in the walls and imbeded pillars. You have to see it to understand how interesting it really is to play. Hint: Dont fire a rocket on the way up! =============================================================== * Play Information * Map # : 01, thru 08 Single Player : No, you couldnt get more bored if you tried.
